Our Story

As part of partnership to improve local quality of life through ecotourism; the village of Ayacucho Tipishca invited Amazon Expeditions to build our lodge on their property at a place known as "Palo Verde" (Green Branch). The community calls this area of their property Palo Verde because of the vast number of Capirona trees in the area. These giant trees are smooth to the touch and the truck and branches of the Capirona tree are a rich dark green color - thus was born "Palo Verde Lodge". We have worked hard alongside our gracious hosts to build a beautiful ecolodge and an ever growing relationships with the surrounding communities.

Jason Springs, Cecil Stokes and Mike Dickerman (from left to right) operate Amazon Expeditions and Palo Verde Lodge from Charlotte, North Carolina. Carlos Pizango is our manager in Iquitos and for those of you who have been to our lodge you know that he is a talented individual who we are blessed to be working with. We are excited to have the privilege of doing this work and we invite you to experience the difference. Thank you for considering us as your tour operator in the jungles of Peru, we look forward to serving you.
