Name: Mike Dickerman

Bio: Mike is the co-founder of Amazon Expeditions and as the son of missionaries in Colombia, has spent nearly 20 years in the South American rain forest. Mike operates Amazon Expeditions and Palo Verde Lodge from Charlotte, North Carolina and is mainly responsible for promoting the company and organizing Amazon Expeditions' community development & humanitarian aid projects.

Mike spends part each year at Palo Verde Lodge and personally guides larger visiting groups to the Perúvian Amazon several times a year.

Name: Carlos Pizango Sangama (Carlos)
Years Guiding: 20 + Years

Bio: Carlos was born and raised on the Napo River about two days on the river from Iquitos. He has lived in the Peruvian Amazon region his whole life and as Amazon Expeditions' managing partner in Perú, Carlos is our chief local expert. With over 20 years of experience in the tourism industry in Perú Carlos adds a wealth of knowledge and experience to our company. ,

Carlos manages everything on the ground in Perú and handles coordinating visitor arrivals and departures, hotel reservations and transportation. Carlos and his team are also responsible for handling all aspects of your time at our lodge including the coordinating and management of our guides and other staff.

Before joining the Amazon Expeditions team and prior to his years in the tourism industry Carlos taught English as a second language at a small community high school on the Napo River.

Name: Llyackom Manihauri Pacaya (Jacko)
Years Guiding: 24 + Years
Languages: English, Spanish, Italian
Bio: Llyackom was born in the small native Amazonian community of Omagua located 195 kilometers from Iquitos. His native dialect at birth was Caseria Cocama which is an Amazonian language spoken by few remaining people of his community.

After primary school Llyackom moved to Iquitos where he attended high school and went on to study English for two years at the University of Amazonia. His proficiency in English brought him into the tourism industry in 1985 when he began his guiding career. He has been a professional rain forest guide for over 24 years now and is proud to guide and educate visitors on jungles he grew up in.

Bio: Joey was born and raised in the Peruvian Amazon and has been a professional rain forest guide for nearly 20 years. Joey's extensive knowledge of the rain forest, its plants and wildlife is demonstrated on every excursion making each one a unique and memorable experience.
