Amazon Sport Fishing
Fishing is a very popular activity in the Amazon region and most of the communities in the area of our lodge are fishing villages. While exploring the Oxbow lakes and small tributaries of the Amazon you'll get a chance to catch the fabled piranha. Don't worry, your guide will handle the fish for you once you get one in the boat!
For more avid fishermen we are currently developing our Pro Sport Fishing catch & release program. Through community partnerships you'll be able to take extended fishing trips into the jungle and to more remote areas to catch Peacock Bass, Aruana, Tambaqui, Payara, Pacu and more.
The peacock bass is only one of a long list of species inhabiting the waters of the Amazon River basin with its fierce top water strikes and tackle-busting power. Reaching sizes over three feet long and upwards of 25 pounds, the beautiful peacock bass makes for a formidable adversary. Large peacocks regularly break 40-lb mono and braids of 60-lb strength.
