Your Arrival In Iquitos
The city of Iquitos is an hour and a half by plane from the capitol city of Lima, Peru and is our base of operations. Upon arriving in Iquitos our staff will meet you at the plane and get you checked into one of our partnering hotels for an overnight stay (depending on your arrive time). By night explore the bustling city and enjoy the town square and many restaurants in the area.

In the morning our staff will pair you with your guide and the adventure begins! The Amazon Expeditions lodge is located approximately 2.5 hours south on the Amazon River from Iquitos.

We recommend that guests stay for a minimum of 3 days to allow for enough time to truly experience the wonders of the rainforest. We do not offer predetermined itineraries for our guests; instead, the morning of your arrival at the lodge you will be paired with your rainforest guide. Each of our guides speak both English and Spanish and are experienced naturalists who will accompany you throughout your visit. Once you are comfortably situated and oriented with the lodge your guide will explain all of the activities and excursions that are available.

You'll have the flexibility to pick and choose when and what you do during your visit rather than being paired with other guests or visitors. Your guide will make recommendations for times, excursions and activities based on the time of year, weather and other variable factors.
