Packing For Your Adventure
The average temperature in the Amazon Basin is 82°F, with daily highs reaching the mid 90's and nightly lows in the lower 70's. During the dry season (May-October), cold fronts from the South Atlantic occur occasionaly causing daily temperatures to drop into the mid to high 50's.
As we are located in the Amazonian lowlands, rainfall can occur at any time but most of the prolonged rainy weather happens during the wet season (November-April). Below is a list of things we recommend packing for your trip:

  • A pair of tennis shoes with good tread; A.E. will provide rubber boots for jungle outings; sandals are great for when your at the lodge but are not suitable for rainforest hikes.

  • A few pair of tube socks, long pants, lightweight shirts or tanks, and a few shorts. (You will probably prefer fast drying safari-type clothing.)

  • At least one long sleeve shirt for the coolness of the evenings.

  • Batteries for any electronic devices, remember there is no electricity at the lodge although if you have rechargeable batteries we can charge them on the generator.

  • Plenty of film (400 ASA is recommended) or memory cards for your digital camera

  • Mosquito Repellent (the stronger the better)

  • Sun Block - All months of the year are sunny in the tropics!

  • Binoculars

  • Flash light(s) and/or headlamp

  • A water bottle or hydration pack (Drinking water is provided)

  • Poncho or rain gear

  • A wide brimmed hat
